Ambassador Andrea Cascone was born in Naples on 16 May 1973. He graduated in Political Science at the University of Naples in 1996 and joined the Italian diplomatic service in 1997.
He assumed his duties as Permanent Representative of Italy to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on 16 September 2024, coming from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation where he was Director for the Adriatic and the Western Balkans.
At the Ministry he served at the Operations Center, the Office of Policy Planning, Deputy Head of the Western Balkans Department, Head of the Near East Department, and in the Minister’s cabinet.
He was posted abroad at the Embassy of Italy in Damascus, in Chambery as Consul, in Ankara and Washington.
