On May 28 and 29, the OSCE Asian Conference was held in Bangkok, organized by the Finnish Chairmanship of the Group of Asian Partners for Cooperation in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.
The event brought together representatives from OSCE participating States and partners, international organizations, and the private sector to discuss key transnational digital threats. Discussions focused on sharing strategic threat assessments, combating illicit financial flows, and strengthening media and digital literacy.
During the session dedicated to media and information literacy, Italy presented key national initiatives aimed at strengthening citizens’ information resilience. In particular, emphasis was placed on collaboration with the academic community, promoting schools’ access to quality journalistic sources, and digital education programs designed to foster greater awareness regarding online reputation, how platform algorithms function, and the risks of disinformation.
