Ambassador Stefano Baldi intervened today at the 1352nd meeting of OSCE Permanent Council, in addition to the EU statement,\u00a0on the occasion of the commemorations of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day 2022.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Baldi\u00a0underlined the duty to preserve the historic memory of the Holocaust, racial laws and anti-Jewish prosecutions and confirmed Italy\u2019s determination\u00a0to fight against\u00a0all\u00a0forms of anti-Semitism. Amongst the\u00a0many different\u00a0initiatives promoted by Italy to\u00a0increase awareness about the Shoah and to counter prejudices and new forms of anti-Semitism, Ambassador Baldi\u00a0recalled the
National Strategy for combating anti-Semitism<\/a>, elaborated by an expert\u00a0panel led\u00a0by Prof. Milena Santerini,\u00a0National Coordinator for the fight against anti-Semitism, as well as the Guidelines against anti-Semitism in schools<\/a>\u00a0published by the Italian Ministry of Education last autumn.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Baldi also expressed\u00a0deep appreciation for the work of the OSCE and of ODIHR in particular, to counter\u00a0all forms of intolerance and discrimination and to promote human rights and fundamental freedoms. He\u00a0recalled the recent translation in Italian of ODIHR\u2019s “Addressing Anti-Semitism through Education” teaching aids<\/a>.<\/p>\n
